Dialogue 4 Peace: Student Staff Professional Development Training Fellowship
The Dialogue 4 Peace (D4P) student training fellowship is a cohort-based learning experience over five weeks that explores Peacemaking and Restorative Justice as a framework to promote dialogue across differences, listening for understanding, conflict resolution, and consensus/community-building. D4P fellows will learn foundational theories and facilitation skills.
The D4P Program will equip students with the skills, knowledge, and mindset to become effective facilitators and leaders capable of addressing conflicts and fostering meaningful dialogue within diverse communities.
Goals and Learning Outcomes
Program Goals:
- To equip student leaders with the knowledge and skills to become effective community dialogue facilitators
- To foster an understanding of Peacemaking and Restorative Justice practices and application in promoting listening for understanding
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the fellow program and final projects, students will:
- Understand the foundations of Peacemaking and Restorative Justice
- Cultivate a values-based mindset for Peacemaking and Restorative Justice
- Develop practical skills in conflict resolution
- Design and execute peer facilitation projects
- Share knowledge and practices with peers

What is the time commitment? | Fellows must attend five weekly two-hour sessions and complete a peer facilitation project by the end of Spring Quarter, as well as, present their project at a summit event on May 27, 2025, where a panel of experienced practitioners will share their knowledge and experience. |
What are the benefits of participating in the program? | D4P Fellowships are paid professional development opportunities where students connect with their peers, learn hands-on from experienced professionals, and foster community and belonging on your campus. The program includes weekly dinner socials to strengthen these relationships, and culminates in a final session where the group will celebrate completion of the program and receive further coaching on their project. Students will receive funds toward the development of their project, as well as credit on their co-curricular record for their participation in the program. |
