Staff Professional Development Training Fellowship
The Dialogue For Peace staff training fellowship is a cohort-based learning experience over two and a half days that explores Peacemaking and Restorative Justice as a framework to promote dialogue across differences, listening for understanding, conflict resolution, and consensus/community-building. Dialogue For Peace fellows will learn foundational theories and facilitation skills.
The Dialogue For Peace Program will equip staff with the skills, knowledge, and mindset to become effective facilitators and leaders capable of addressing conflicts and fostering meaningful dialogue within their departments and communities.
Goals and Learning Outcomes
Program Goals:
- To equip staff with the knowledge and skills to become effective community dialogue facilitators
- To foster an understanding of Peacemaking and Restorative Justice practices and application in promoting listening for understanding
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the fellow program and final projects, staff will:
- Understand the foundations of Peacemaking and Restorative Justice
- Cultivate a values-based mindset for Peacemaking and Restorative Justice
- Develop practical skills in conflict resolution
- Design and execute peer facilitation projects
- Share knowledge and practices with peers
Program Benefits
- Engage in discussions, group activities, and role-playing to develop practical leadership skills

- Build connections with fellow staff, share insights, and work on real-world challenges together
- Implement a peer facilitation project on campus, applying the skills and knowledge gained to benefit their own communities

- Receive $250 in project funding to implement staff's knowledge and skills in their own community spaces

What are the benefits of participating in the program? |
DFP Fellowships are paid professional development opportunities where staff connect with their peers, learn hands-on from experienced professionals, and foster community and belonging on your campus. The program includes daily lunch socials to strengthen these relationships, and culminates in a final session where the group will celebrate completion of the program and receive further coaching on their project. |
What is the peer facilitation project? | Each Fellow will design and implement a peer facilitation project on campus, applying their newly acquired skills to benefit their community. Further details are outlined in the curriculum and will be shared in training sessions upon acceptance into the program. |
